Henry Ford was the founder of the Ford Motor company and the inventor of the assembly line, the Model T car, and the Model A car.
He revolutionized the assembly line by making cheap cars quickly and selling them for high prices. This encouraged other automoblie manufacturers to use his idea. Ford was born July 30th, 1863 and died April 7th,1947. His most notable acheivement is the assembly line.
Pavlov was born on September 14, 1849 and died on February 27, 1936. He was a Russian psychologist who is known for his description of Classical Conditioning. Classical Conditioning is a form of learning. He tested this with a dog, commonly referred to as Pavlov’s Dog.Before conditioning there are an unconditioned stimulus (US), an unconditioned response (UR), a neutral stimulus (NS), and a neutral response (NR).Stimulus is anything that brings about a response. The example of the US would be the food in front of the dog. This brings about the UR of the dog salivating. The NS would be the bell ringing, and the NR would be the dog not salivating.During conditioning, ringing the bell with the food in front of the dog (US), would bring about a UR of the dog salivating. After the conditioning, ringing the bell alone (Conditioned Stimulus, CS) would bring about salivation to the dog (Conditioned Response, CR).Therefore people can be conditioned or taught to behave a certain way. Pavlov won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1904 for Physiology or Medicine. In Brave New World the conditioning center was named the Pavlov Conditioning Center. In this center they would condition the people, while they were young, to think certain ways because they didn’t want them to think freely. For example, they would condition the people to never touch flowers or books in the future by giving off a loud sound when one would try to touch a book.
Das Kapital-is a treatise of political economy written by Karl Marx. It is written in German and was published in 1867.
Karl Marx political ideas-
- Wanted to increase the power of the state
- Wanted free education for all children in public schools
- Wanted a Heavy income tax
- Wanted to extend instruments and factories of production owned by the state
- Wanted to combine manufactured industries with agriculture
What Government system does Marks Prefer?- - Communism, A theoretical economic system characterized by the collective ownership of property and by the organization of labour for the common advantage of all members. Why? -Marx's believed in a communist government because he believed that in a communist society everyone would be equal and if everyone was equal then there would be no issues or problems with other people making everyone happy. Connection To Brave New World- - Das Kapital connects to brave new world because it’s a good example of Brave New Worlds government. The Das Kapital says that in order for there to be happiness than people must be equal. While in Brave New World all the people are happy and equal and if you are not equal or an individual then you are banished to other land. This can be problematic though because if everyone is the same then you can never get new ideas hence the society cannot develop and grow.
